Feng Shui For Great Sleep

                      FENG SHUI FOR GREAT SLEEP

All of life is energy and Feng Shui is the ancient Chinese practice of arranging objects to be in harmony
with the flow of that energy. Since we spend about one third of our life sleeping, the bedroom is a good
place to focus on for good energy flow. When setting up your bedroom according to the Chinese
principles of Feng Shui, use the principles of the Five Animal template consisting of the tiger, the dragon,
the phoenix the tortoise and the snake. You may not understand these principles, but they have worked
well in Chinese culture for centuries.

Use the following steps to create a positive Feng Shui energy flow:

1) Place a nightstand or table to the right of the bed. This represents the tiger, low to the ground and
ready to spring into action when threatened.

2) Place a tall dresser or other object to the left of the bed. This represents the dragon, high above the
ground, symbolizing our wisdom and our ability to reflect on information.

3) The space at the foot of the bed should be kept clear. This represents the phoenix which flies out
ahead to examine the land and gather information. The phoenix is our vision and inspiration.

4) The head of the bed should be placed against a wall. This represents the tortoise that provides us with
    stability, security and protection.

5) The bed should be placed within clear sight of the door without being in the flow of incoming
energy. This makes it easy for you to see who is entering. The door represents the snake that always
has a clear view of what is coming.

6) Do not place your bed near a window. Doors and windows direct the energy flow in the room, so it is
important to avoid being in the direct path of the energy.

7) Never place a mirror opposite the door, the window or the bed. A mirror in this position will bounce
energy back. The idea is for the energy to flow harmoniously through the room.

8) Do not place a bed under ceiling beams. The beams push energy down, creating a downward force that
    puts pressure on your body.

9) Do not place a light directly over the bed. It should be on either side of the bed.
When you decorate your bedroom using Feng Shui principles you are creating a flow of harmonious
energy in a place where you most need it in order to be well rested.
